We started the day with form and emptiness and we started with emptiness. Richard Laing came into to explain the work of Douglas Harding - headless work or pointing to the source.

We then went from emptiness to form, as Richard is also a five rhythms teacher.
Food time and a rest
Then we had a breathwork session based on Binnie Dansby Source Process Breathwork and then a tea break...
The afternoon was spent doing portraits of each other in pairs, from a contemplative stance and without a pencil eraser! We were then asked not to share our portaits but take these and paint animal mask from that sketch - why? Well we stopped for the group evening meal and then came back for some silent meditation and then an exercise.
We took our painted masks and walked around with eyes just peering over the paper and explored through our masks. We then sat down and everybody commented on everybody else mask, a rather painfully process if you ask me and incredibly insightful.
There are number of reason for doing this exercise, to listen into the voices which says I can't draw, my drawing is good, her pictures rather good, that one is rather bad. We can also see how we can unconsciously project our stuff onto/ into form. Why did we paint that animal? So we get some handle on "me" and when "me" is not there.
An amazing morning with Martha showing us how to breath and sing with our whole body, using her training with First nature. You would not believe the sounds coming from the group.
We finished of the afternoon after lunch with some question and not enough time for the answers and that was:-
What is nourishment?
What was nourishing for you this weekend?
Why was that important?
Imagine how you could create this outside the weekend?
We finished with some words from Richard Holloway quoting Don Cupitt in Doubts and love
“The sun is not thinking about itself as it burns; the universe is not thinking about, is not conscious of itself as it explodes through space; but we are. Something is going on in us that is as wonderful and extraordinary as the universe itself…Rather than living frightened and cautious lives, we should burn out extravagantly, giving warmth and joy to others…We could let ourselves be ignited by the same recklessness that lies at the heart of the universe, challenging us to live adventurously, not to be held back by our fears and limitations, but to burn with joy that we are rather than we are not. ”
